The Edge Class Fleet (5 Ships)
The Magic Carpet: Celebrity's Most Iconic Feature
The Magic Carpet is Celebrity's single most recognisable innovation — a 90-metre-long cantilevered deck platform that slides up and down the starboard exterior of the ship on tracks, stopping at different deck levels to serve different functions throughout the day.
- At Deck 2 (Embarkation): Functions as the ship's gangway for boarding and disembarkation in port.
- At Deck 5 (The Retreat): Serves as an extension of the Retreat Sundeck, accessible to suite guests.
- At Deck 14 (Resort Deck): Becomes an outdoor bar and casual dining extension of the pool deck — open to all guests.
- At Deck 16 (Top): Transforms into a specialty dining venue for intimate meals and cocktail events high above the ocean.
Infinite Veranda Staterooms
The Infinite Veranda is the Edge Class's signature stateroom innovation, and it genuinely changes how you experience the sea. Instead of a traditional sliding glass door to a separate balcony, the Infinite Veranda features a full-height glass wall that moves electrically:
- At the closed position, the glass wall provides panoramic views while keeping the room climate-controlled.
- At the open position, the entire glass wall retracts, opening the room fully to the sea breeze — effectively extending your living area outdoors.
- The result is a stateroom that feels significantly larger than its square footage suggests, especially when sailed in warm-weather destinations.
Important: The Infinite Veranda does not have a separate railing or traditional balcony deck — the open area is a flush extension of the room floor. Guests who love sitting outside with a separate physical balcony may prefer a traditional veranda ship.

Edge Class ships replaced the traditional single main dining room with four distinct complimentary restaurants, each with its own regional culinary theme and atmosphere. You can dine at any of them on any evening at no extra charge:
Cosmopolitan Restaurant
New American cuisine. Contemporary dishes inspired by US regional cooking with a sophisticated presentation.
Normandie Restaurant
Contemporary French cuisine. Elegant French flavours adapted for a modern dining experience — coq au vin, bouillabaisse, and soufflés.
Cyprus Restaurant
Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Fresh seafood, meze-style sharing plates, and the vibrant flavours of Greece, Turkey, and the Levant.
Tuscan Restaurant

Edge Class vs Edge, Apex vs Beyond/Ascent/Xcel
There is an important size distinction within the Edge Class fleet. Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex are the original, slightly smaller ships (129,500–130,818 GT, 306m length). Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Ascent, and Celebrity Xcel are extended versions (~20m longer) with 140,600 GT and additional capacity (3,260 vs ~2,910 guests). The larger ships feature more dining options, a larger Rooftop Garden, and more venue variety.
